DOI : 10.17681/hsp.398963 Purpose: Healthcare services involve major risks with respect to occupational health and safety. This study aims at revealing the opinions of health professionals working at family health and public health centers on occupational health and safety and their job satisfaction. Material and Method: This descriptive study was conducted between March-June 2015 at family health and public health Centers in the province of Mus, Turkey. The study population consisted of all health professionals working at these centers. In the research, no sampling method was chosen, entire population (n=100) was reached. the data of the study were collected under direct observation, using questions about demographic characteristics and occupational safety, Minnesota Job Satisfaction and Occupational Safety scales to inquire the opinions of health professionals working at family and public health centers. In the analysis of the data, number, percentage, average, ANOVA and pearson correlation tests were used. Results: We found that occupational safety was not secured generally (2,8±1,07) in all subscales except suitability of physical environment (3,6±1,4) at family health and public health centers. The general job satisfaction level of the family health and public health centers occupational groups was at a neutral satisfaction score, whereas their external satisfaction score (2,87) was found low and internal satisfaction score (3,20) high. Conclusion: A comparison of the occupational safety and job satisfaction of the family health and public health centers occupational groups revealed that there was a significant positive relationship between them (p=0,001).
