By its nature, clinical research is a patient-focused industry aimed at discovering new treatments to improve lives. However, in the wake of continually decreasing study budgets, investigators are challenged to improve the patient research experience while maintaining profitability. In order to achieve both a good patient experience and profitability, targeted planning is critical. This article identifies how investigators can improve the patient experience while positively affecting the bottom line in the areas of processes, financial matters, and relationship management.
