Abstract
In this eighth article of The Practising Midwife’s education series, we discuss the new Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for midwifery proficiency – Domain 3: ‘universal care for all women and newborn infants’. This article focuses on providing universal healthcare (UHC) for all women and newborn infants. Through inter-professional learning, UHC can be embedded across different disciplines and gives students the opportunity to consider the holistic needs of women, birthing people and babies.
