Abstract
‘Tri-co robotic’ technology represents ‘Coexisting-Cooperative-Cognitive’. It is a new challenge in the field of robotic research. The harmony of robot with human, environment and other robots is critical for the ultimate nature of the ‘Tri-co robotic’. A typical example of ‘Tri-co robotic’ is a collaborative telerobotic system. The collaborative telerobotic system adapts to the operator based on all kinds of operational information. Among various kinds of information, the operating level of the operator is highly significant. This paper presents a method of evaluating the operating level in telerobotic operations based on electroencephalograph (EEG). A neural network-based approach is used to model this relationship. Using the EEG-based method, the operating level can be easily evaluated online by wearing a headset during the telerobotic operations. Simulations and experiments are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed operating level assessment.
