Abstract

This paper investigates semantic features of the Russian imperfective and perfective verbs. The analysis focuses on the parameters, which provide the semantic content of particular aspectual meanings. The method used in the research is the method of complex linguistic description, including genera-lization, comparison, interpretation and classification. An important consequence of this view is conclusion that semantic parameters are important elements in aspectual interpretation, determining the most significant features in understanding semantic content of Russian verbs.
