Abstract
We present one-dimensional porous silicon photonic crystals that exhibit two band gaps in the NIR region and two band gaps in the visible region. These photonic crystals are made by periodically repeating two porous silicon layers with different refractive index. Theoretical analysis demonstrates that they are suitable for obtaining omnidirectional mirrors to be applied in the infrared region, especially for the wavelength of 1.55 µm.
