Abstract

Several hierarchically mesoporous ZSM-5 samples were hydrothermally synthesized in the presence of a single or a mixture of two mesogenous templates, CTAB and TPOAC, and compared with conventional ZSM-5. The obtained mesoporous ZSM-5 samples were characterized by XRD, FE-SEM, and BET techniques. The results demonstrated that CTAB has more retarding effect than that of TPOAC on the crystallization. Moreover, further addition of TPOAC is not beneficial for the development of further mesoporosity. Thus, using 3:1 molar ratio of TPOAC to CTAB at (TPOAC + CTAB)/SiO2 molar ratio of 0.02 is a proper amount of these mesoporogens.
