Abstract

In this work, the η-Fe2O3 nanospheres/diatomite composites (FNDCs) are prepared for the first time by a one-pot hydrothermal method, using the K2FeO4 as iron source. Indeed, the η-Fe2O3 can uniformly decorate the inner and outer surface of diatomite to form 3D porous structure. Such unique 3D structure and their high specific area are favorable to provide sufficient active sites for effective electrochemical reaction and enhance capacitive performances. In principle, these findings demonstrate that the low-cost η-Fe2O3 modified diatomite structures are promising for energy storage and conversion application.
