Abstract

Abstract This paper deals with the problems involved in one specific installation of motor-driven centrifugal pumps for pipe-line work. The author describes conditions prior to the installation, and gives the reasons for the selection of centrifugal pumping units, as well as actual construction and operating costs so far as possible. He also discusses the effect that the experience gained from the installation described may have on the future use of centrifugal pumps in petroleum transportation.
