Abstract

The paper substantiates the necessity to improve the portfolio management of the science-based enterprises with the help of the value-oriented approach. The basic strategic values of the science-based enterprise are highlighted. The main values of the enterprise are taken as a basis to form its values field. The definition of the values field of the science-based enterprise is presented. The values of the enterprise and their hierarchical structure are identified; the latter forms the values orientations of the corresponding levels of the hierarchy. It is established that the values field of the science-based enterprise is affected by the external and internal environment. It is substantiated that risk accounting of the environment of the values field of the enterprise is a necessary tool during evaluation of appropriate project portfolios. There is formed a conceptual model of the value-oriented portfolio management of a science-based enterprise. It is identified that the portfolio management processes should be integrated with minimization of the risks of project portfolios, as well as mutually integrated. This will lead to optimization of the strategic values of the science-based enterprise.
