Abstract

The present article addresses the old problem of correct estimation of ferroelectric parameters from the hysteresis loop. Experimental study of thin polycrystalline PZT films shows that the presence of leakage currents and dielectric losses causes distortion of the hysteresis loop and results in overestimated values of remanent polarization. The technique based on the measurement of the hysteresis at two frequencies (100, 200 or 300 Hz) is studied to obtain hysteresis loop cleared from dielectric losses. The modified Lorentz function was used for simulation of obtained hysteresis curves. This approach permits to obtain correct data generated from the dielectric hysteresis measurement.
