Abstract
The longitudinal (axial) velocities of the air in a vortex chamber of diameter 0.393 m were experimentally investigated at different values of the tangential and bottom blows. On the basis of the data obtained, the back (adjoint) flow of air blown from the atmosphere through the outlet of the chamber (vortex ejection) was calculated. The dependence of this flow on the relative radius of the outlet of the chamber, the Rossby number, and the value of the bottom blow was determined.
