Abstract

The analytical method proposed by Cranberg and Levin (1969) for the calculation of neutron attenuation and multiple scattering corrections in tubular polythene scatterers was tested and compared with a Monte Carlo program in performing these calculations for samples of different elements at various energies. The analytical method is shown to have some advantages in performing these calculations.
