Abstract
The thermal behaviour of bakélite, polyethylene, polyamide, polycarbonate, ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer) and insulation rubber, was investigated using the derivatographic technique. The kinetic analysis of the thermal destruction curves suggested to the authors that the thermal stability of macromolecular compounds should be characterized by means of the reciprocal value of the rate constant.
