Abstract

The fundamental equations describing the stochastic processes in reactors are formulated in the most general manner, and the generalized equations for the neutron density and neutron importance, as well as for the fluctuation of neutron density, are derived. The equations for neutron density and those for neutron importance are in close relation with certain generalized forms of the Kolmogoroff-Feller equatlons from the theory of stochastic processes. Only one type of fissionable nucleus is considered in this treatment. (W.D.M.)
