Abstract
A method of solving electrodiffusion equations, which generalizes the method of joining asymptotic solutions, is developed. Approximate solutions for prelimit and beyond-limit currents are obtained. The limiting values of field strength at which a boundary layer is formed are found. The coordinates and field strength values at which the Boltzmann distribution of the concentration of species is observed are found.
