On the theory of optical absorption spectra of ferroelectric crystals

Abstract

Proceeding from the concept of the random force field produced by the equilibrium electric fluctuations, an equation is obtained describing the intrinsic absorption edge shape of an anisotropic dielectric. The expected temperature dependence of the shape and the intensity of the low frequency absorption tails of some types of ferroelectrics in the phase transition region is qualitatively analysed.
