Abstract

Using the density-matrix renormalization-group method we study the surface criticalbehaviour of the magnetization in Ising strips in the subcritical region. Our resultssupport the prediction that the surface magnetization in the two phases along thepseudo-coexistence curve also behaves as for the ordinary transition below the wettingtemperature for finite values of the surface field.
