Abstract

The late Albian–early Turonian Grebenka flora is one of the most representative mid-Cretaceous floras of Northeast Russia. However, the stratigraphic position of the Grebenka beds relative to plant-bearing deposits of similar age is still debatable. It is shown that the Salamikha volcanogenic sequence, bearing the Buor-Kemyuss plant fragments, is the most probable stratigraphic analog of the Krivorechenskaya terrigenous formation. The deposits bearing the Grebenka flora lie stratigraphically below volcanogenic deposits including the Chaun flora.
