Abstract

We present a new version of the self-consistent spin wave theory (SSWT), based on slave boson and fermion representations and a variational principle, to describe quasi-2D systems which possess finite values of magnetic ordering temperature because of weak interlayer coupling and/or magnetic anisotropy. Applications to a description of pronounced short-range order well above the ordering point are demonstrated.
