Abstract
A microscopic formulation of the scissors mode, based on the angular-momentum projected Hartree-Fock Bogoljubov approximation, is applied to the Ti and Ne isotopes. Results for M1 transition strengths and form factors are presented and compared to available experimental data and shell model calculations. For 46Ti the B( M1)↑ value obtained is in excellent agreement with the experimental data for the 1 + state at 4.3 MeV.
