Abstract

We explicitly calculate in the on-shell approximation the contribution of the triangle mechanism with K ∗ and K mesons in the intermediate states to the branching ratios of the reactions pn → φπ −, pp → φπ 0 and pp → φγ , the experimental values of which strongly disagree with the OZI-rule predictions. The calculated branching ratios for the first two reactions are in qualitative agreement with experimental data while even the upper bound for the branching ratio of the latter reaction is much less than the corresponding experimental value. We also discuss the contribution of the above mechanism to the reactions pp → φη, pp → φρ 0 and pp → φω .
