Abstract

A method of introducing dispersed particles during centrifugal casting of blanks is proposed; it can be used to achieve a more uniform particle distribution. Tungsten and boron carbides are chosen as strengthening particles to increase the radiation resistance. The interaction of additives with a metal matrix is studied by thermodynamic simulation of the high-temperature processes occurring in the carbide–metal matrix system using the Fact Sage software package. The composition of 12Kh18N10T steel is used as the matrix material composition for simulation.
