Abstract

The purpose of the research is to introduce into scientific use such musical phenomenon as musical composition title in its typological and functional dimensions and prospective sense. The research methodology is based on the systematic approach to artistic connections and on the normative intermedia, which provides for the similarity and interaction between different media (between literature and music in this case) and the corresponding scientific discourses. Scientific novelty is determined by complete absence of scientific understanding of the title phenomenon in the national musicology and the need to fill this gap in the light of modern scientific ideas. Conclusions. Understanding of the problem of musical composition title and analysis of its features in the literary media discourse show the possibility of media exchange (transposing of literary experience into a different artistic environment). It gives a new starting point for the development of the theory of musical composition title, and therefore, expands the analytical instruments of musicology and its possibilities in interpreting a music text.
