Abstract

Very few analytical models of multicomputer networks operating under non-uniform traffic have been reported in the literature. As a result, most existing studies have relied on simulation and measurement experiments to assess the performance of adaptive routing algorithms in wormhole-routed networks under such traffic conditions. This paper introduces an analytical model of adaptive routing in bi-directional tori in the presence of hot spots. Results from simulation experiments show close agreement with those predicted by the model.
