Abstract

We show that a linear change of variables proves simpler to treat kinetic couplings in one-dimensional two-particle systems than a recently proposed representation based on the eigenvectors of the relative position and total momentum [H. Fan et al., Phys. Lett. A 213 (1996) 226]. As a particular example we consider the Morse oscilltor recently treated by the latter method.
