Abstract

AbstractThe mechanism of the processes of sorption and desorption of free radicals by micelles and latex particles in emulsion polymerization is considered. The data concerning the residence time of benzene molecules in micelles and the probability of desorption of chain transfer radicals from latex particles in the processes of post‐polymerization are in favour of the supposition that the rate of the processes of sorption and desorption is limited by the resistance to mass transfer in the particle‐water interface.
