Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of the possibility of using a comparator as a linear amplifier of the output electrical signal in magnetostrictive converters of linear or angular displacements. A mathematical model of the formation of magnetic fields of an annular permanent magnet and magnetic fields formed by current pulses is described in detail. Formulas are described that allow calculating the magnetic flux in the reading element and the output signal. To test the possibility of using comparators as a linear amplifier of an analog output signal, studies of frequency and phase characteristics and voltage gain coefficients for several nominal resistance values were carried out. The results of the computational experiment were tested experimentally. The voltage transmission coefficient and bandwidth measured during the experimental test differed by no more than 10% from the results of the computational experiment, which allows us to conclude that the comparator can be used as a linear amplifier of the output electrical signal in magnetostrictive linear or angular displacement converters. The results obtained are of practical significance and can be used in the modeling and design of electronic circuits, both signal processing and the study of magnetic systems of projected magnetostrictive linear and angular displacement transducers.
