Abstract

The work is devoted to the process of developing the educational subject “History of the Development of Religions”, introduced into the curriculum of secondary schools in Kyrgyzstan. The article analyzes the processes of piloting this subject in schools and considers the issue of providing support from foreign sponsors. An analysis of the existing problems that hindered the full implementation of this project was carried out. An empirical study was carried out among teachers teaching this subject in schools, which allows us to identify the first results, challenges and threats, as well as the reasons for discussions and disputes around the introduction of this educational subject. The key aspects of the process of changing the educational paradigm in the field of religious education were identified in the context of modern challenges and the dynamics of social life.
