Abstract
In this paper, we present the error probability expressions for a wideband coherent spatially correlated Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) channel in low signal to noise ratio (SNR) regimes. Prior works have depicted a decrease in performance due to spatial correlation in high SNR regimes. This work proves that in a power limited broadband MIMO system, spatial correlation across the channel fading matrix elements improves the probability of error performance. In other words, spatial correlation impacts the MIMO performance differently in high SNR compared to low SNR (wideband) regimes.
