Abstract

The properties of the vanadium valence band have been studied by normal emission ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy from V(100) surface by the use of different photon energies (21.2, 16.8 and 11.8 eV). The bottom of the d-band at the high symmetry point H 12 was found to be around 2.5 eV. We did not find conclusive evidence for the existence of the surface resonance on the V(100) surface.
