Abstract
The combined effect of amines and OH– ions on the corrosion resistance of steel in chloride-containing aqueous electrolytes was studied. The role of the chemical structure of amines in the inhibition of steel depassivation was analyzed, with the alkalifying and adsorption effects being separated out. Synergism of some amines and OH– ions makes it possible to create effective inhibitive formulations.
