Abstract

Aim. The presented study aims to determine the level of development of labor potential in the Arctic zone.Tasks. The author defines the concept of labor potential and its characteristic features; compares the level of development of labor potential in Arctic regions using various indicators to obtain the most accurate results.Methods. This study uses modern general scientific research methods: comparative analysis, structural and logical methods.Results. The labor potential of Arctic regions is high according to several indicators. In terms of economic indicators, most regions are above the average level (except for the Republic of Karelia and the Krasnoyarsk region). The same is true for demographic indicators, with only the Republic of Karelia and the Arkhangelsk region below the median. That said, the demographic characteristics of each region remain stable and do not decline. Three of the examined regions are below the national median in terms of education and qualification, five in terms of psychophysiology, and seven in terms of innovation.Conclusions. According to the results of the study, the level of labor development in Arctic regions is increasing. That said, it is necessary to focus on the development of innovation, education, and healthcare.
