On the characterization of memoryless bandpass non-linear systems from intermodulation measurements

Abstract

A surface fitting technique for characterizing a memoryless bandpass non-linear system is presented. While the experimental data required consists of the amplitude of the dominant inband third-order intermodulation product measured over a range of levels of three equal amplitude input sinusoids, the technique yields a model capable of predicting products of orders higher than three. No phase measurements are required.
