On the 95th anniversary of the birth of the member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Volya Georgievna Artamonova, an outstanding Russian occupational pathologist

Abstract

The article presents the materials about the life and work of the outstanding Russian occupational pathologist V. G. Artamonova. V. G. Artamonova is the author of original works on the study of various aspects of the impact of electromagnetic waves on workers’ bodies. In addition, the subject of V. G. Artamonova’s cre ative activity was the development of issues of occupational pathology of the bronchopulmonary apparatus in workers exposed to organic dust. These works have played an important role in the development of modern ideas about the etiopathogenesis of occupational bronchial asthma under the influence of biological factors with a high sensitizing ability, as well as in the development of prevention and therapy measures.
