Abstract
The Academic Council of the Philosophy Faculty of Moscow State University has discussed my books Dialektika sposoba proizvodstva obshchestvennoi zhizni [Dialectics of the means of production of social life] and Sotsializm i zakonomernosti obshchestvennogo razvitiia [Socialism and the laws of social development].1 In this article I should like to offer some additional clarifications and arguments concerning the ideas presented in these books. I think the publication of the article is useful, too, because the questions raised in my books deserve further discussion, especially in light of the current problems identified by the Twenty-seventh Congress of the CPSU: namely, the role of the human factor, the priority of what is universally human over class considerations, the new political thinking, etc.
