Abstract

Abstract A review of vortex configurations in two-dimensional sine-Gordon systems, including Josephson junctions, will be given starting from a simple vortex configuration (as described by Hudak in 1982) to recent results on vortex lattices in high-temperature superconductors and to some other systems. Josephson effects and vortex states in superconductors and intrinsic Josephson effects on high-temperature superconductor stacked junctions in multilayers are discussed.
