The subject of the article is the rhythm in the verse. The theory of alternation and its suitability forpractical use is examined. A rhythm based on rhythmic strokes (ictuses) and their sequential occurrence in time ispreferred. The issue of interictus, which are important in forming the poetic rhythm, is also touched upon.
