Abstract

Staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome (SSSS) is an emergency pediatric pathology, a rare and severe manifestation of staphyloderma. SSSS most often affects children younger than 5 years of age, and has an approximately 5% mortality rate due to complications: sepsis, superinfection, and the occurrence of electrolyte imbalance [1]. Given the rarity of this syndrome, doctors are not always able to immediately make the correct diagnosis. The article describes and illustrates cases of SSSS from practice, with a detailed description of the features of the clinical picture, the examination, the prescribed treatment and the differential diagnosis of the disease.
