Abstract

Objective To compare the postoperative complications and comfort of patients after coronary intervention by femoral artery and radial artery in order to reduce complications and improve the comfort level to develop effective methods of care. Methods To study the 200 cases of coronary intervention by femoral artery and radial artery through January 2009 to October 2010 in our Hospital, postoperative nursing including mental care, partial puncture,prevention of peripheral vascular complications. Results The radial artery group of vascular complication rate was 4%,the femoral artery group of vascular complication rate was 11.5%. Comfort of the radial artery group of patients and other related side effects was significantly lower than the femoral artery group. Conclusion Compared with the femoral artery approach, the radial artery approach means less complications, safer, more convenient and higher comfort level for patients.
