On non‐ramified extensions with prescribed Galois group

Abstract

In this note we prove: Theorem. Let Λ be a normal number field of absolute degree n. Then there exist infinitely many normal number fields K with the following properties. (i) The Galois group of K over the rational field Q is the symmetric group S n on n symbols.
