Abstract

Mass spectrometric measurements of xenon and krypton isotopes in uranium minerals are used for accurate estimation of fission yields of stable isotopes of xenon and krypton in the spontaneous fission of 238U. The relative yields of 136Xe: 134Xe: 132Xe: 131Xe: 129Xe: 86Kr: 84Kr: 83Kr as obtained from the results of Thode et al. [1,3], and Wetherill[2] are respectively 6·00:4·99±0·01:3·48 ±0·02:0·65±0·03:0·03±0·01:1·10±0·05:0·24±0·05:0·07±0·02.
