Abstract

Magnetic behaviour of LaxMnyO(3x+yV)/2 samples with different La/Mn ratios (0.91:1, 1:1, and 1:0.9) has been studied by dc-, and ac-susceptibility measurements. The samples were prepared under various sintering conditions with the aim to stabilize appropriate structure forms of this phase, i.e. the rhombohedral (Rh), the low-temperature orthorhombic (O*) and the high-temperature orthorhombic (O), each characterized by specific oxidation state of Mn ions (3.0–3.6) and specific distribution of the structure components. The results obtained have allowed to clarify more precisely complex magnetic properties of lanthanum manganite phase and their evolution versus oxidation state of Mn ions within the structure forms available.
