Abstract

The pollutant emissions and the combustion cycle variability of a K9K diesel engine fuelled with LPG by diesel gas method are analyzed. The emissions level decreases with 42% for NOX, with 63% for HC, with 35% for CO2 and with 30% for soot at LPG fuelling. The COV’s for angles of 5%, 10%, 50% and 90% of mass fraction burned present bigger values comparative to classic diesel engines, but don’t exceed the limits that provide reliability and normal drive-ability of the diesel engine.
