Abstract
Three dibranchiate cephalopod remains from different bituminous shales contribute to our knowledge of Jurassic representatives: 1. The recently re-discovered holotype ofLioteuthis problematica Naef, 1922, from the Lower Toarcian of southwestern Germany has been prepared and is found to be taxonomically and phylogenetically isolated of its strange morphology: 2. An exceptionally preserved ink sac of a Lower Toarcian squid [probablyBelopeltis aalensis (Zieten, 1832)] from southwestern Germany, shows the finest imprints of the blood vessels yet seen. 3. The Callovian speciesBelemnoteuthis antiqua Mantell, 1847, mentioned, but not figured from the middle Kimmeridge Clay of southern England, is figured here from these beds for the first time.
