Abstract
A code generator is designed based on a one-way coupled map lattice (OCML) system, and application of the generated binary spatiotemporal chaotic sequences on baseband spread spectrum communication is investigated. Random characters and the correlation properties of quantized signals are discussed, and error performance in communication is analyzed. It is shown that these sequences not only possess extremely high security in comparison with both conventional sequences and earlier chaotic communication schemes, but also show good performance on the Bit Error Rate (BER). The system also has the advantages of fast code generating speed and ease of synchronization, and is capable of supplying large amount of sequences.
