Abstract

In September and October 2013, president Xi Jinping, during his visits to central and southeast Asian countries, successively put forth the initiatives of building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (hereafter referred to as the Belt and Road). The initiatives immediately received utmost attention from the international community. On March 8th, 2015, three ministries under the State Department co-issued Vision and Actions on Jointly Building Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road so as to accelerate building of the Belt and Road, which, for the purpose of peace and common development of the world, aims to promote economic prosperity and regional cooperation as well as exchanges and mutual learning among countries along the routes through coordinated economic policies, free flow of production essential elements, efficient allocation of resources and deep integration of markets.
