Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach to the problem of discrete time output feedback sliding mode control design, where the system to be controlled is non-minimum phase. The method described in this paper applies to uncertain (square) systems with matched uncertainties. A connection between previously established output feedback min-max controllers and discrete time sliding mode controllers are given, which is crucial to the approach presented. A new explicit method is described to solve a constrained Riccati inequality, which allows the calculation of the ultimate boundedness, sets associated with the controller. A numerical example from the literature is used to illustrate the results described in the paper.
