Abstract

Two algorithmic approaches to constructing nonlinear observers currently exist. Here one of these is improved by finding an explicit solution to the partial differential equations describing the change of state coordinates, thereby avoiding expensive bracket computations. This simplifies the algorithm and has implications for system identification.
