Abstract
In this paper, a summation theorem for the Clausen series is derived. Further, a reduction formula is obtained for the Kamp\'{e} de F\'{e}riet double hypergeometric function. Some special cases are given as applications. A generalization of the reduction and linear transformation formulas is also given in the form of the general double series identity.
